Lee Wiley

Lee Wiley

A stylish singer with a successful 1930s radio career, Lee Wiley was a member of the Cherokee Nation from Oklahoma. She sang with Lee Reisman, Paul Whiteman and the Casa Loma Orchestra. She wrote songs with Victor Young and was briefly married to pianist Jess Stacy. Her singing career had faded by the 50s, but her influence is still to be found in the work of numerous 21st century jazz vocalists.
