Kevin Mahogany (July 30, 1958 – December 17, 2017) was an American jazz vocalist who came to prominence in the 1990s. Particularly known for his scat singing, his singing style has been compared with those of Billy Eckstine, Joe Williams and Johnny Hartman. Born and raised in Kansas City, he graduated from Baker University and sang on the local scene until the release of Double Rainbow introduced him to a wider audience. His 1996 album Kevin Mahogany elevated him to the national and international stage. He recorded with Frank Mantooth, Monty Alexander, Elvin Jones, Ray Brown and Cheryl Bentyne, while releasing ten albums as leader.
